Starting on 11/23 at 8 a.m. the ESX production farm will be upgraded to ESX 4.0. VMotion will allow the migration to occur without impacting virtual machines. Virtual machines with heavy workloads will be migrated after hours as possible. The work will continue through Wednesday evening.

On Wednesday, 11/25/09, from 3:00 AM to 6:59 AM, the IT Networks & Security Data Team will be upgrading a portion of the BoilerNet network to meet the new Purdue Network 2010 standard. Specifically the network will be upgraded in the Veterinary Pathobiology Research Building (VPRB), Hanger Number 5 (HGR5), and the Veterinary Pathology Building (VPTH).
AFFECTED CLIENTS: Clients within VPRB, HGR5, and VPTH should plan to experience disruption of both wired network connectivity (via data PIC) and wireless network connectivity (via PAL/PAL2.0).
SCOPE OF WORK: During the scheduled outage window, affected clients in VPRB and VPTH should plan to experience service disruptions for up to 1.5 hours in duration and affected clients in HGR5 should plan to experience service disruptions for up to 1 hour in duration.

The electrical service to WDCT (Wiley Dining Court) will be shutdown on Wednesday, November 25, 2009,
from 8:00am to approx.4:00pm.

On 11/25 the PROFILE database will be decommisioned, as recommended by the client. The database will be shutdown and datafiles compressed. The compressed database will be retained for 30 days and then scratched.

The electrical service to RHPH will be shutdown on Wednesday, November 25, 2009,
from 5:00am to approx. 7:30am

The CSC will be closing at 6pm on Wednesday 11/25, the day before Thanksgiving break starts. It will resume normal hours on Saturday 11/28 at noon.
